late afternoon on June 6, 2010 at home.
i don't have a kid or anything, but i have to say that this stroller comes in pretty darn handy for carrying groceries to my front door. it's like having a shopping cart, only i don't get any weird looks :-)

8:00pm on June 5, 2010 at home.
this is a great clock. doesn't need batteries (you wind it up), has a loud ass alarm, makes that tick-tock noise that no digital clocks ever make, and is a funky blue color that makes it look like it came straight from the Brady Bunch house.

June 3, 2010. substitute photo taken in Pittsburgh, PA on May 28, 2010.
after an unbelievably exhausting trip home, and a rushed trip back to meet my sister's arrival from india, i was tired, to say the least! so yes, one more day slipped by. but i can't let the day go by without posting something for you :-)
this photo was from my drive through North Park in Pittsburgh. this is in the portion of the lake that used to be for duck feeding, but now is just for taking in the views.

~3:00pm on June 2, 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA.
i was sitting at my gate, ridiculously early for my flight, when i saw the rain start coming down. and down. and down. after a typical 10 minute summer downpour, the sun came out and all was well again.
i kept looking at this cart thing (i have no idea what it is), and loved the colors and the graphic look of the lines around it on the ground. yes, i really was thinking that while i sat there.
i know, i'm a geek.

noon-ish on June 1, 2010 in Glenshaw, PA.
when i lived in pittsburgh, i hated the rain. now, i love the rain. what changed? i don't have to deal with rain nearly every day! so now i love that pre-storm breeze where you can smell the rain coming.... i love the cool and damp air after a storm, when you can smell the dirt.... and i love seeing small drops of water on plants and flowers, making the rain suddenly look very delicate.

~7:00pm on May 31, 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA (Mt. Oliver).
i'm argentinean. we like meat. we are one of the best places in the world for meat and leather. we take meat seriously.
this is my cousin, Richard. he was determined to make an asado for us.
it started raining. then it started pouring. then there was a flash flood watch. then i looked out the window and saw that Richard was more determined than ever to do the asado, all he needed was to add the patio umbrella over the grill :-)

necessity really is the mother of all invention. while not technically an invention, our creativity during the last days at the house totally exemplified that phrase. here, we were adding some toppings to a pizza that my cousin had given us to re-heat. we needed to cut the peppers, so... letter opener to the rescue!! and it worked perfectly! :-)

early afternoon on May 29, 2010 in Glenshaw, PA.
i don't know what this flower is called, but within several days i saw tons of them bloom outside of our front door. i couldn't resist catching a few shots of it in between some packing and truck-loading :-)

i used to love stopping by the duck pond area of the lake at North Park. it was sad to see that they now don't allow feeding the animals, but the lake is as beautiful as ever.... especially at sunset :-)

early afternoon on May 27, 2010 in Glenshaw, PA.
my mom loves to garden. and while i don't have the same green thumb that she does, i do appreciate her passion for gardening. when i stepped outside, i saw a sea of green plants and one lone orange poppy that stood out brilliantly!

~8:00pm on May 26, 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA.
after another day of endless packing in hot and humid weather, my mom and i headed out for food. and boy did i miss Eat 'n Park!! fried zucchini, homestyle cooking, and the best coffee ever! i only wish they expanded into the west... but oh well, i guess that'll be one of the reasons to go back and visit :-)

~4:00am on May 25, 2010 somewhere just west of Charlotte, NC.
and this is why i ALWAYS carry a camera with me on planes. you just never know when you'll feel like snapping a pic or two :-)
i woke up to look out my window and see the beginning of an amazing sunrise. below us were the clouds, to the back was the night sky full of stars, and ahead of us was the rainbow of light coming up over the horizon. i recommend that everyone take a red-eye flight at least once to see the skies light up first thing in the morning!

i was tired, on edge, and ready for some uncomfortable sleep in a confined seat for 5 hours.... thank goodness there was all this bland gray to keep my spirits up.

May 23, 2010. substitute photo taken in Pittsburgh, PA.
the past month and a half has been a blur. i'd been doing a great deal of the organizing that led up to my mom's cross-country move, including spending a week and a half in Pittsburgh to help pack up the house. because of this, May 23rd completely slipped by me!
so in its place, i'm presenting a preview of the pics from the next couple of weeks. this one was taken in North Park, in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. i used to go to this park all the time, and loved going for walks around the lake and stopping to feed the ducks. i drove through the park at just the right time of the day and was amazed at how beautiful the park really is...
