there was heavy traffic on my ride home from work today. again.
i took the Carmel Valley route home today. again.
i looked out my window while sitting in an intersection (again) and was caught off guard by how pretty these wildflowers looked. they made me smile :-)

this was taken in Carmel Valley, as i sat in line for a stop sign intersection... it made my heavy commute feel not so heavy today :-)

bacon on the grill! i expected to love this. bacon = awesome. grill = awesome. bacon on the grill = not so awesome. the taste was wonderful, but we quickly realized that bacon drips way too much and that makes it very easy for nice big fires to start. not to worry, nothing burned down :-)

today was the first day of a 2-night camping trip with family. i always love the challenge of getting good photos on a beach, but i think a beach is way more interesting at night!
this shot was taken around 11pm. It's a fence on the edge of the campsite as it meets a small hill down to the beach. we were lucky enough to have an empty campsite across from us, giving us a clean view to the blue skies above the ocean :-)

this afternoon i offered to put a dvd on in my bedroom for my nephew, thinking he'd stay out of the living room and calm down for a little bit. i hadn't even put the disc in the dvd player, when i turn around and see him comfortably tucked into my bed and waiting for the movie to start.
his mama didn't raise no fool....

i have a list of foods from argentina that i crave constantly and wish i could find here. one of those items is this chocolate, which my cousin (who sells imported food) gave me when i went to pittsburgh.
needless to say, i savored every last bit of it!
